BOSTON — Winners of five straight, the Red Sox will host the Toronto Blue Jays — weather permitting — Monday night as the first AL East opponent visits Fenway this season.

The Sox, who swept a doubleheader from St. Louis, are off to a 3-0 start at home.

They’ll begin this series without Kristian Campbell in the lineup. Campbell, who had started each of the first 10 games of the season, has Monday night off with David Hamilton getting the start at second base.

Boston’s lineup is otherwise fairly standard.

Richard Fitts, who had originally been scheduled to start Saturday’s game (rained out) was pushed back a couple of days and draws the Jays as his second opponent of the season. Fitts allowed three runs in a loss to Texas on the first weekend of the season.

In the sweep of the Cardinals, the Red Sox scored a total of 36 runs in three games. They’ll face better pitching in this matchup with Toronto, beginning with José Berríos in Monday’s series opener. First pitch is at 6:45 p.m. ET with the Red Sox moving up some game times early in the season this year.

Last season, the Red Sox were 8-5 against Toronto.

The Red Sox optioned pitcher Cooper Criswell before the game, and selected RHP Robert Stock to the active roster. Stock pitched briefly for the Red Sox during the 2020 pandemic season before rejoining the organization this past winter and coming to camp on a minor league deal.
